Many thanks!

The Hastings Food Bank depends on the generosity of the community to keep its shelves stocked and doors open. The community comes through, time and again! For example, Todd’s Valu-Mart have been staunch supporters for many years, hosting regular Cram the Cruiser events in their parking lot and making a donation box available at the front of the store. Residents respond generously.

Donation boxes are placed in businesses around Hastings to help fund the Christmas Hamper program so that each family served by the Food Bank gets a Turkey and the makings of a complete Christmas dinner. The scene at the Civic Centre on that Saturday in December before the goodies are given out may look chaotic as the food bank volunteers fill boxes, but the whole procedure is a carefully scripted yearly event.

Recently the staff at Outpost Packaging raised $284 for the food bank by silent auction. Outpost also donates the boxes that become the Christmas “Hampers” as well as many other contributions over the years.

Ensuring that the Food Bank is supplied with ground meat has been the project of several local families; they know who they are and we cannot even begin to thank them enough for their unassuming generosity.

Thank you to everyone not yet mentioned here—your contributions are invaluable and so appreciated.
